Sioux Lookout is located on Pelican Lake, part of the English River - Lac Seul Water System. Sioux Mountain is located across the lake and legend has it that the Ojibway camped at its peak where they could see the approaching Sioux canoes from a great distance; thus the town name was derived. Sioux Lookout has the busiest airport between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg. Come visit the annual Blueberry Festival, Ojibway Provincial Park, resorts & fly-in outposts, hike many trails, camp, fish, hunt or canoe.
