Red Lake, the "Norseman Capital of the World". This is the starting point for canoe trips into Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, where there is a large concentration of pictographs. Visit the Red Lake Museum in the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre, Norseman Heritage Park with a suspended full size model of the Norseman historic bush plane, Kinsman Beach, or take an aerial tour of the town. The Municipality of Red Lake consists of six smaller towns: Red Lake, Balmertown, Cochenour, Madsen, McKenzie Island and Starratt Olsen, all gold mining towns.
