Geraldton is located northeast of Nipigon at the junctures of Highways 11 & 584, on the shores of the Kenogamisis Lake. Geraldton boasts an excellent golf course, the Kenogamisis Catch and Release Fish Derby held every Canada Day weekend, the annual Geraldton Music Jamboree (August civic long weekend), and the popular Geraldton District Fall Fair on the 3rd weekend of August. It is also known for its forestry and mining industry.
